The 6.3 earthquake that happened in Christchurch was absolutely devastating. Quoting from our newspaper, Canterbury is indeed in carnage and New Zealand is in its darkest hour.

Currently, the death toll is 72 and rising. 200 and more are still missing. Many are still trapped under the rubble. 80% of people are without water and power. Many are homeless.

Through all the devastation, it is heart warming to see countries from all around the world send in their search & rescue teams and donate money. People all across New Zealand are opening up their own homes for anyone from Christchurch who want to escape the city. A 10,000-strong student volunteer army has also been gathered through Facebook to help those suffering. New Zealanders are getting together to support each other andย  hopefully the people who are trapped will be rescued soon!

Please continue to keep your thoughts and prayers with Christchurch.

Making a come back!

Okay, so this space has been highly neglected since the start of summer last year so I believe an apology is due!

This summer was kind of a life changing one for my family and I and so the start of 2011 had both it’s bitter and sweet moments. Let’s just say, this year is going to be… different. On a high note…

However, I promise this blog will not be filled with lovey-dovey wedding buzziness. Well, at least not all the time, hee hee!

I know this is a bit delayed but it’ about time I write down my to-do list for this year so when things get underway, I can tick the boxes on the list and feel good about myself : )

1. Prepare for most awesome wedding ever

2. Get slim and fit

3. Start baking again

4. Get part time job

5. Attempt to update this blog daily!

I’m looking forward to this new adventure!

I’m going back to Singapore soon and I hear that more places to have a decent coffee (non-starbucks) has sprung up! Friends! Can’t wait for you to bring me to these places! hehe ๐Ÿ™‚

When baking cupcakes for events, I’ve always resorted back to plain ole vanilla cupcakes with a buttercream frosting which I personally find way too sweet. So in my free time, I’ve tried chocolate &ย  marble cake but nothing very spectacular. I’ve been wanting to venture into more exotic flavours but silly university consumes so much of my time!

Anyway after this babbling, I just want to let you in on a baking adventure I’m about to start on!

No, it’s not a new flavoured cupcake, it’s something totally different : )

I’ll give you a clue: it’s small and comes on a stick!

By the end of the week, I’ll be sure to let you know how my adventure went!
